Dr. Rowley had his hands full when the first two foals came on the same night! Coffee Liqueur delivered her first foal, a healthy bay colt; which we have been calling Gus for now. Gus will be going home to Valentina Griffin once he is old enough. Little White Lie delivered her first foal just a few hours later; a light buckskin colt, named QMR Little Fire. Everyone was worried about him for his first few weeks of life. He was so little and not due for another 6 weeks! Luckily, we have a great doctor on site and great staff who all chipped in to give this little guy some extra care. Now, he is right where he needs to be and can keep up with the other foals.
Two weeks later, we had three more foals born...QMR Fear Me (QMR Devotion x QMR Comet), a spiritedly black colt; QMR Love the Arts (HPS Subtle Artistry x QMR Cupid), a quiet blood bay filly; and QMR Summer Dream (HPS Dreamcatcher x QMR Summer Wind), a bold bay filly. They were all delivered the same week and growing quickly!
Then, over the next three weeks, QMR Song of the Stars (QMR Shadow's Star x HPS/FE Lantea's Serenade), a bay splashed colt, QMR Back Story (HS Knight's Stories x BWF Gottcha Back), a chestnut overo filly, and QMR Nite Sky (ZA/IL Prince of the Nite x DP Cloudy Day), a chestnut splashed colt were born! That was quite the few weeks; so many colored foals, the staff were up in arms with excitement. Cheyenne couldn't believe her luck! Hard to beleive they were all going to leave Quiet Meadows Ranch one day.
Despite all of the foals, we are still waiting on one more foal to be born out of QMR Like A Pro, sired by Ocean Pearl's Leutnant, which will be staying with us for sure. Tia has been doing well with this pregnancy and looks like she should be delivering soon. She has been enjoying getting spoiled by, 12yr old, Evelynn who sneaks cookies to the expecting mare every chance she gets!
