The Office
At Quiet Meadows Ranch, we strive to bring out the best of each horse; whether in the show ring, on the track or just as a companion. What started with a goal to return the ranch to its former glory with Thoroughbred racing champions, has now expanded into various breeds bred for high show quality and companionship.
Today, Quiet Meadows Ranch is home to some of the top performing Flat Racing Thoroughbreds and is one of the largest Thoroughbred breeding/racing facilities around. With a facility sitting on a large estate, we have several barns that have been specially designed for the horses that live there. In addition, we also have a large staff including jockeys, trainers and a full time onsite veterinarian. We strive to bring you high quality, sound and high performing Thoroughbreds as well as a variety of other breeds in many disciplines.
On top of our performing horses and teams, Quiet Meadows Ranch also owns and protects an area home to wild Mustangs, called Paint Island. Cheyenne fights to protect the land and the horses to allow them to maintain their lives in the wild. She ventures out herself when she has time, but also employs a small group of people to keep a distant eye on the herds. They keep track of the changing family bands, new foals born and horses passed in order to help maintain the viability of the land. She does from time to time do small as gentle as possible round ups to help with the numbers, but mother nature does pretty well at keeping things in balance.
There is also a third part of the growing estate, a sanctuary for retired or rescued horses of all breeds, called Hill Side Meadows. There, Cheyenne has welcomed once wild Mustangs that required medical attention and are now unable to return to the wild, horses she has saved from slaughter auctions and some that simply had no where else to go. She has such a soft spot for horses that it killed her to leave a lonely looking horse at auction or hear of horses in need; whether it be abuse, failing owners, or just unwanted horses. Here, they live peaceful, quiet lives where they are well loved and cared for.
It has become clear that the owner, Cheyenne Cavender, has not only returned Quiet Meadows Ranch to its former racing glory, but has surpassed it and brought new accomplishments and honor to the estate.
